Angus
Mc Og is Antonio Tavoni. He lives in Vignola, a small town on a small
river between the hills and the plain of Emilia Romagna, in
northern Italy. For a
long time he plays as guitarist in several local bands, till he puts
down his electric
guitar to grab an acoustic one and starts writing. His musical
influences come from
the songwriters he loves the most, like the old favourites Bob Dylan,
Neil Young, Tim Buckley and
Nick Drake, plus Iron
and
Wine, Bon Iver, Elvis Perkins, Bonnie Prince Billy, Will Sheff. Between
2009 and 2010 Angus Mc Og works hard on the new material and plays gigs
up
and down the Italian peninsula. On the summer of 2009 he
flies to
Sydney to meet his friend and former band member Lucio Pedrazzi, which
lives there and have been playing drums for the Australian band Faker.
The
chance is good to play together, improve the songs and keep on writing
new ones. Between Summer and Autumn 2010 twelve songs are recorded at
the new Bombanella Studio in Maranello, engineered by Davide
Cristiani. On December 2010 Angus Mc Og signs a promotional deal with
the Italian Label
Picicca/Pippola Music.
